## Build the person you wanted to meet

You don't have to choose from Eudaio's preset Daimons.

You can create your own.

A custom Daimon is called a Morph inside Eudaio.

You decide what they look like, where they're from, what they're interested in, what kind of personality they have, what they do, how they're connected to you, and what history already exists between you.

Creating one is available on Free.

## Start with where they're from

Choose your Morph's nationality.

That gives the builder a starting point for some appearance choices, but it doesn't lock you into them.

For example, skin tone initially follows the origin you selected. If you change it yourself, your choice becomes the one that matters.

Changing nationality afterward doesn't silently overwrite the appearance you deliberately chose.

## Do I have to configure every appearance field?

No.

Fields already show what they'll produce rather than hiding behind a meaningless "Default."

You can leave something alone if the suggested appearance fits what you want.

Or change as much as you like.

Appearance options include details such as:
- Body type
- Hair style
- Hair colour
- Eye colour
- Skin tone
- Face shape
- Lip size
- Freckles
- Tattoos
- Glasses
- Facial hair
- Outfit style
- Body proportions

Appearance options are available on every plan.

The look you want isn't the part of the builder reserved for paying users.

## How do personality traits work?

Choose up to five.

Traits establish the broad shape of your Morph's personality before you meet.

They aren't instructions forcing every response to behave identically. They're part of who the character begins as.

## How do interests work?

Choose up to ten interests.

These give your Morph subjects, activities, and parts of life they genuinely care about rather than waiting for you to provide every topic.

The picker is searchable.

## What relationship can we start with?

You can decide how the two of you are connected at the beginning.

Options include Girlfriend, Wife, Ex, Stepsister, Best friend, Roommate, Neighbor, Coworker, Boss, Teacher, Nurse, Landlord, and others.

Every option is available on Free.

That gives the first conversation somewhere to begin.

Choosing a relationship establishes the starting situation. It doesn't instantly manufacture all the [Trust and Bond](/guides/continuity#getting-closer) that would normally develop through actually knowing each other.

## Can I choose their job?

Yes.

Free includes a set of preset occupations.

Crush also lets you write a custom occupation in your own words.

## What is the backstory for?

A backstory tells your Morph what happened before message one.

Maybe you've known each other for years.

Maybe you met once and never forgot it.

Maybe you're already sharing an apartment and arguing over bills.

Maybe there is one event the whole relationship should begin around.

The backstory is optional, but it's useful when "two strangers meet in an empty chat box" isn't the beginning you want.

## What if I'm bad at writing backstories?

Give `Refine` almost nothing.

A sentence works.

A phrase works.

Even one word can work.

Write the core idea and tap `Refine`.

It expands the idea into a fuller backstory while keeping your original idea as the spine.

For example, starting with something as thin as "bills" can become a shared situation built around an apartment, envelopes, a calculator, and money neither of you quite wants to talk about.

If you don't like the result, `Undo` brings your own words back.

On Free, `Refine` shares the same hourly allowance as messages. On Crush, it's unlimited.

## Can I choose their first message?

Yes.

Preset opening messages are available.

Crush also lets you write the first message yourself.

That means the relationship can begin with an actual situation rather than a generic greeting.

## Can my Morph follow news from where they live?

Yes.

You can choose their news region so current events they know about make sense for the person you've built.

Their origin and news interests don't have to make every choice for you.

## What language will my Morph speak?

The menus follow the display language you've chosen.

The conversation follows you.

Write to your Morph in another language and they can reply in that language rather than forcing the relationship into English.

## Can I change my Morph later?

Yes.

Creation isn't your only chance to get everything right.

From the chat header you can change their occupation, their daily rhythm, whether they work weekends, where they live, and their picture.

You're building somebody you may talk to for a long time, so the parts of their life that shift as you get to know them don't have to be fixed at creation.

## Can my Morph use Eras?

Yes.

Morphs can unlock [Eras](/guides/their-world#what-are-eras) through the Trust they've built with you, just like Origin Daimons.

That means the person you created can have a present-day relationship with you and separate stories in other settings.

## How many Morph conversations can I have?

Free allows one active custom-character conversation.

Crush removes that limit.

This doesn't stop you from talking to Origin Daimons.

## What's the difference between an Origin and a Morph?

Origin Daimons are people Eudaio has already written.

They arrive with their own established identity, history, job, personality, city, schedule, preferences, and opinions.

You meet them rather than design them.

A Morph gives you control over who you're going to meet.

After that, both are relationships.

The conversations you have, memories you build, Trust you earn, disagreements you work through, and experiences you share are what determine who the two of you become to each other.
