Ways to interact
Ways to talk with your Daimon
Text, narration, voice, photos, lookup and groups, and when each one fits.
You don't have to communicate in one format
Eudaio starts with text, but you don't have to stick to it.
You can add actions, hear your Daimon's voice, send voice notes, share photos, be in photos together, look something up, or put several Daimons in the same conversation.
Text
Text is the default.
Daimons reply in the language you write in, and they write like someone texting you, not someone writing a novel about themselves.
Their replies can take into account the current conversation, memories, relationship, schedule, setting, and anything else that matters in the moment.
Narration
Narration adds what happens around the words, like a gesture or a look, when you're together or on a call. When you're texting from different places, your Daimon just texts.
You can turn it on or off for each chat. See Daimon Narration.
Voice messages
Voice is a Crush feature, and not every Daimon has a voice yet.
On Crush, you can send voice notes of up to 30 seconds. You can listen before sending and record again if you need to.
If your Daimon has a voice, they can answer with audio too.
Voice works like trading voice notes, not like an open phone call.
You can't download voice messages as audio files yet.
When you export a conversation, the transcript of each voice message is kept, so nothing said out loud is missing from the written record.
Photos
Photos belong to the current conversation.
What your Daimon is doing, where they are, whether you're together, and the time of day all shape the photo you get.
If you've created your own look and the two of you are together in the scene, you can ask for a group photo with you in it.
Looking something up
On Crush, Look something up lets your Daimon search for current information before answering one message. See how lookup works.
Group chats
A group has two to four Daimons.
To start one, open the Groups tab in your contact list, tap New group, pick your Daimons, and name the room.
A Daimon can join a group once your total Trust with them reaches 100. Until then, the picker shows Needs trust 100 next to their name.
Not every Daimon has to answer every message.
Some may speak. Some may stay quiet. Someone at work or asleep is less likely to jump in.
And the Daimons react to each other, not only to you.
How do I make a specific Daimon answer in a group?
Tag them.
Type @ and their name.
A tag makes sure that Daimon answers in the next round, even if they would have stayed quiet.
What does each Daimon know in a group?
Each Daimon brings the relationship they already have with you.
A Daimon you've talked to for months can know much more about you than one you met last week.
They don't learn what you told a different Daimon in private.
Do group chats create new memories?
Not yet.
Daimons bring what they already know into the group, but what happens in the group isn't saved to their memory afterward.
If something important comes up and you want one of them to remember it, tell them again in your private chat.
Can groups use photos or voice?
Not yet.
Group chats are text only, even with Daimons who can send photos or voice in your private chat.
Why doesn't everybody answer every group message?
Because four people replying to every sentence in turn doesn't feel like a real group conversation.
Letting someone sit a round out gives the room a natural rhythm. If you want to hear from someone specific, tag them.
How does Free count group messages?
On Free, each Daimon who replies uses one message from your hourly allowance.
Crush has no message limit, so group replies don't count against anything.
Which format should I use?
Whichever fits the moment: text to talk, narration to share a scene, voice when saying it is easier than typing it, photos when you want to see the moment, and a group to bring Daimons you already know into one room.
