Build a Morph
How to import a character from another app
Turn a character card or an AI chat into a Morph you can edit.
Bring your character with you
Do you have a character you love in another app? You don't have to build them again. Eudaio can read a character card from SillyTavern, Chub, JanitorAI, RisuAI or Character.AI. It can also take a character from a ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude chat. Eudaio turns it into a Morph, a Daimon you build yourself.
The import fills in the Morph builder for you. You check each field, change what you want, and then create your Morph.
Where do I find the import?
Go to Meet Daimons. On the Create Your Morph card, tap Start Creating.
On the first step of the Morph builder, open Import from another app. You have two choices:
- Choose a card file for a .png or .json character card
- Paste from an AI chat for a character from ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or another AI app
How do I import a character card?
A character card is a file with a character's name, description, personality and story. Many character apps let you download one as a .png image or a .json file.
- Download the card from your app. For Character.AI, use the CAI Tools browser extension to save a character as a card.
- In the Morph builder, open Import from another app and tap Choose a card file.
- Pick the file. Eudaio reads the card and fills in the builder.
- Check each step, change what you want, and create your Morph.
How do I import a character from ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude?
These AI apps don't give you a card file. So the AI writes the card for you.
- Tap Paste from an AI chat. Copy the message that Eudaio shows you.
- Open the chat with your character. Send that message as your next message.
- Copy the AI's whole reply. Paste it into Eudaio and tap Import.
Sometimes the reply is missing something. Eudaio then tells you what's wrong and gives you a fix message. Send it to the same AI, then paste the new reply.
What comes over from the card?
Everything that tells you who the character is:
- Their name, age, gender identity and pronouns
- Their personality traits and interests
- Their job
- What they are to you, like a friend, a partner or a coworker
- A backstory from the card. It includes your situation together and how they talk.
- Looks that the builder has, like hair, eyes, skin tone, glasses, freckles and tattoos
If the card doesn't mention something, your choice stays the same. An import never deletes choices you already made.
What doesn't come over?
- The greeting. In Eudaio, you write the first message, so you pick it in the builder.
- The card's picture. Your Morph's photos come from the looks you choose in the builder.
- Your old chats. A card holds none. You can bring a chat yourself: open your Morph's chat, tap the three dots, and choose Import chat history. It reads SillyTavern and Character.AI chats. For other apps, it gives you a prompt that has ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude turn your chat into a file Eudaio reads.
- Instructions for the other app, like system prompts.
Some cards have a look the builder doesn't have, like green skin, or an age over 99. You choose that field yourself.
Heads up: Morphs are people. A card for an animal, a monster or a fantasy creature keeps its personality and story, but the photos show a person. Read the backstory before you create the Morph, and change anything that doesn't fit.
What can't be imported?
- Characters under 18, or stories with anyone under 18. You can only import adult characters.
- Files larger than 8 MB
- .charx files
When Eudaio can't import a card, it tells you why. A refused card or a card Eudaio can't read doesn't use a message.
Does importing cost anything?
On Free, an import uses 1 message from your hourly messages. Before you start, the builder shows how many you have left. If you have none left, try again later.
On Crush, messages are unlimited, so you can import as often as you want.
The rest of the builder works the same as when you start from nothing. On Free, the import picks the closest job from the job list, and you can have one Morph chat at a time. On Crush, the card keeps its own job, and you can have as many Morphs as you want. See how to create your own Daimon for more.
Can I change things after importing?
Yes. You can change everything before you create your Morph. You can also change them later, like any Morph.
Is the backstory too short? Write more yourself, or use Refine.
What if my app isn't supported?
If Eudaio can't read your file, it asks Is your app missing? Tell us which one. Type the app's name there. We count every request to choose which apps to add next.
You can also email us a sample file. This helps us add the app faster.
